Question :-

Find the centre and radius of circle

x² + y² + 6x + 8y - 96 = 0

Answer :-

centre of this circle is (-3,-4) and radius is 11

Solution :-

We have Equation of circle -

x² + y² + 6x + 8y - 96 = 0

Make it in the form (x - a)² + (y - b)² = r²

here centre is (a,b) and radius is r

→ x² + 6x + 9 + y² + 8y + 16 -16 -9 -96 = 0

→ (x+3)² +(y+4)² -121 = 0

→ (x+3)² + (y+4)² = 11²

Comparing it with tha given Equation of circle

Hence ,centre of this circle is (-3,-4) and radius is 11
