y1 = 150 + 10/2 = 155 mm

a2 = 150 × 10 = 1500 mm

y2 = 150/2 = 75 mm

The distance between the centre of gravity of the section and bottom of the flange is,

y' = (a1y1+a2y2) / (a1 + a2)

y' = [1500 × 155 + 1500 × 75) / (1500 + 1500)

y' = 345000/3000

y' = 115 mm
