1 mole of O2 has 6.022 x 10e23 molecules of oxygen. Since the oxygen molecule is diatomic in nature, i.e., 1 molecule of oxygen has 2 atoms, the no. of oxygen atoms in 1 mole of O2 is - 2 x 6.022 x 1023 = 12.044 x 10e23

Since it is given as 2g, 2 moles should be calculated.

2 x 12.044 x 10 e23 = 24.088 x 10e23 moles.

The charge of an electron is 1.602×10e-19 coulombs

Therefore, the charge of 2g of O2- is –

24.088 x 10e23 moles x 1.602×10e-19 coulombs = 38.58 x 10e4 coulombs

Therefore the charge of 2g ion of O2- is 38.58 x 10e4 coulombs.

Answer:

Explanation:

1 mol = 1 F = 96500 C

Charge of 1 mole bivalent ion = 2 × 96500 C

Now, 1 mol O ^(2-) = 16 g O ^(2-) ion
