Answer:

circumference- 2πr (π = 22/7 or 3.14)

- 2 × 22/7 × 7

- 22 × 2 = 44cm

area-πr²

- 22/7 × 7²

- 22/7 × 49

- 154 cm²

To find : 1) area of circle

             2) circumference of circle

Given : radius = 7 \ cm

Solution :

  • To find area of circle we use following formula :

           Area \ of \ circle = \pi r^{2}

  • Substituting the value of \pi  = 3.14 and r = 7\ cm we find area of circle .

          Area \ of \ circle = ( 3.14 ) (7 )^{2}

                                 = 153.86\ cm^{2}

  • Now, to find area of circumference of circle we have following formula:

          Circumference \ of \ circle = 2\pi r

  • Substituting values of \pi  = 3.14 and r = 7\ cm

         Circumference \ of \ circle = 2 ( 3.14 ) ( 7 \ cm )

                                                 = 43.96\ cm

Hence, area of circle is 153.86 \ cm^{2} and circumference of  circle is 43.96 \ cm.
