Solution!!

The radius of the circle is given in the question. We just need to apply two formulae and we will get the area and circumference of the circle.

Circumference = 2πr

Area = πr²

If you haven't memorized these formulae, please do it ASAP. It will be piece of cake to solve these kind of questions if you know the formulae.

Circumference = 2πr

Circumference = 2 × 3.14 × 15 cm

Circumference = 30 cm × 3.14

Circumference = 94.2 cm

Area = πr²

Area = 3.14 × (15 cm)²

Area = 3.14 × 225 cm²

Area = 706.5 cm²

FYI the area will always be in square units.

CORRECT QUESTIONS : -

Find the circumference and area of a circle of radius 15 cm. (Take π = 3.14)

SOLUTION :-

Here, radius r = 15 cm

Circumference of a circle = (2πr) units

Where, π = 3.14 [given]

= 2 × 3.14 × 15 = 94.2 cm

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

formula for the circumference of a circle

C = 2 π r C = 2\pi r C=2πr.
