Answer:

Area = 1256 cm² and Perimeter = 125.6 cm

Step-by-step explanation:

Radius (r) = diameter / 2 = 40 / 2 = 20 cm

Area of a circle = π r² = 3.14 * 20 * 20 = 1256 cm²

Perimeter of a circle = π d = 3.14 * 40 = 125.6 cm

Area is 1256 sq cm

Circumference is 125.6cm

Step-by-step explanation:

Given that

Diameter of circle is 20cm

To find

Area of circle

Circumference of circle

Solution

As we know radius of circle is always half of diameter of circle hence

radius =  \frac{diameter}{2}  =  \frac{40}{2}  = 20cm

As we know that

area \: of \: circle = \pi \times  {radius}^{2}

hence

take

\pi = 3.14

now

area \: of \: circle = 3.14 \times 20 \times 20

hence by multiplication we get

area \: of \: circle = 1256 {cm}^{2}

circumference \: of \: circle = 2 \times \pi \times radius

 = 2 \times 3.14 \times 20

by multiplication we get

circumference \: of \: circle = 125.6cm
