We know,

C = 2πr

Radius = 4 ft

∴ C = 2(3.14)(4 ft)

⇒ C = 8 × 3.14 ft

⇒ C = 25.12 ft (1st).

More:

  • Like π (pi), there are many irrational numbers, e.g., 'e' (Euler's number), 'ϕ' (Golden ratio).
  • Numbers like 'the root over of 2' cannot be expressed easily. That's what we use such number in form of 'surds'. For e.g., √3.
