Step-by-step explanation:

Given, coordinates of A = (-3,8)

coordinates of B = ( -5,8)

By mid - point formula,

Coordinates of mid-point = (x-coordinate of A + x-coordinate of B)/3 ,(y-coordinate of A + y-coordinate of B)/2

=> Coordinates of mid-point =[-3 +(-5)]/2 , (8+8)/2

= -8/2 , 16/2

= -4 , 8 ans.

When you plot graph of tje line-segment ,it becomes clear that line - segment AB is parallel to negative x - axis or you can arrive at answer by thinking that the line segment AB lies in 3nd quadrant and y-coordinate is same for both A and B.
