(a - b)^3 = a^3 -3 a^2\ b + 3 a\ b^2 - b^3 \\

Here the coefficient of the term with a^1 is the third term.  Same way, the coefficient of x in the expansion of (2 x -3)³ is obtained.  The term with x¹ is :

+ 3\ (2 x) 3^2 = 3 * 2 * 9 x \\

The co-efficient is 54
