Given :

AP - 0 , -4 , -8 , -12 ....

To find :

  • Common difference
  • Next three terms

Formula used :

  • Tₙ = a + (n-1)d

Solution :

Part 1:

Common difference, is difference between any two consecutive terms in an AP. It is represented by " d ".

d = T₂ - T₁

d = T₃ -T₂

{ we can use either of above equation }

  • d = -4 - (0) = -4

Part 2:

Next three terms .

We can get next term by adding common difference to previous term.

T₅ = T₄ + d

T₅ = (-12) + (-4)

T₅ = -16

T₆ = T₅ + d

T₆ = (-16) + (-4)

T₆ = -20

T₇ = T₆ + d

T₇ = (-20) + (-4)

T₇ = -24

ANSWER :

  • Common difference = (-4)
  • Next three terms = -16 , -20 , -24
