Answer: Common Difference = 5

Step-by-step explanation:

let 'a' be the first term , 'd' the common difference and 'an' the last term

a=4,an=49

an=a+(n-1)*d

So,n=[(an-a)/d}+1

n=(45+d)/d............(1)

Therefore,

Sum of 'n' terms = n/2 [a+an]

     Substituting (1), we get :-(45+d)/2*d * [53] =265

=[45+d]/2d=265/53

= [45+d]/2d=5

=45+d=5*2d

=45+d=10d

=10d-d=45

=9d=45

=d=45/9

=d=5

Therefore, Common Difference is 5.^_^
