Let an A.P of 'd' common difference
and, First term of A.P (a) = 1/2
8th term of A.P(t₈) = a + 7d =17/6
put thge value of 'a'
1/2 +7d = 17/6
or, 7d = 17/6 - 1/2
or, 7d = (17-3)/6
or, 7d = 14/6
or, d = 7/21 = 1/3
therefore common difference is 1/3.
fourth term of A.P(t₄) = a + 3d = 1/2 +3*1/3 = 5/2
and, First term of A.P (a) = 1/2
8th term of A.P(t₈) = a + 7d =17/6
