Question :- Find the two consecutive multiple of 3 whose sum is 51.

Solution :-

Let the common multiple be x

So, let the three consecutive multiple of 3 be 3x and 3(x + 1)

According to the given condition,

3x + 3(x + 1) = 51

∴ 3x + 3x + 3 = 51

∴ 6x = 51 - 3

∴ 6x = 48

∴ x = 8

∴ 1st multiple of 3 ➾ 3x

➾ 3 × 8

\boxed{\boxed{\tt{24}}}

∴ 2nd multiple of 3 ➾ 3(x + 1)

➾ 3x + 3

➾ 3 × 8 + 3

➾ 24 + 3

\boxed{\boxed{\tt{27}}}

Answer:

24, 27

Step-by-step explanation:

Let the consecutive multiples of 3 be x and x + 3.

x + x + 3 = 51

2x + 3 = 51

2x = 51 - 3 = 48

x = 48 / 2 = 24

x + 3 = 24 + 3 = 27

24, 27 are the multiples.

Thank you. :-)
