TO DETERMINE

The coordinate of the point whose ordinate is - 4 and which lies on y axis

EVALUATION

We know that the coordinates of any point in Cartesian Coordinate system is of the form (a, b)

Where abscissa = a and ordinate = b

Now the point lies on y axis

So abscissa = 0

Thus a = 0

Now it is given that ordinate is - 4

So b = - 4

Hence the required coordinates of the point (0,- 4)
