 \frac{m1}{m2}  =  \frac{x - x1}{x2 - x}  \: or \:  \frac{y - y1}{y2 - y}

(I).X1=-7, X2=-1

4/1=x-(-7)/-1-x

4(-1-x)=x+7

-4-4x=x+7

-4-7=x+4x

-11/5=x.

(ii). y1=2 y2=-1.

4/1=y-2/-1-y

4(-1-y)=y-2

-4-4y=y-2

-4+2=y+4y

-2/5=y
