Step-by-step explanation:

given, (x1,y1)= A(1,-1)

(X2,y2)= B(0,4)

to find mid point

D= (x1+X2)/2, (y1+y2)/2

D= (1+0)/2 , (-1+4)/2

D= (1/2,3/2)

These are the co ordinates of mid point.

Now distance between C and D

d= √[(1/2+5)²+(3/2-3)²]

d=√[(11/2)²+(-3/2)²]

d=√[(121+9)/4]

d=√[130/4]

d=√32.5

d= 5.7 units
