The centroid of a triangle is G(a, b).

Step-by-step explanation:

The three vertices of  a triangle are  (0, 0), (3a, 0) and (0, 3b).

To find, the centroid of a triangle = ?

We know that,

The centroid of a triangle, G(x, y)

= (\dfrac{x_{1}+x_{2}+x_{3}}{3}, \dfrac{y_{1}+y_{2}+y_{3}}{3})

x = \dfrac{0+3a+0}{3}

⇒ x = \dfrac{3a}{3}

⇒ x = a

And, y = \dfrac{0+0+3b}{3}

⇒ y = \dfrac{3b}{3}

⇒ y = b

∴ x = a and y = b

Thus, the centroid of a triangle is G(a, b).
