Let it's co-ordinates be ( a, b )
This ( a , b ) lies in this line y = 2x +1
=>. y = b and x = a
=>. 2a - b +1 =0 .... equation 1
If two lines are perpendicular product of their slopes = -1
=>. { b +2 / a - 1 } × 2 = -1
=>. a + 2b +3 =0 .... equation 2
Upon solving both the equations we get
b =1 and a =0
So, Co-ordinates of foot of perpendicular is ( 0, 1)
