the given points are (2,3) and ( 4,7)
the midpoint of the line segment joining these two points are,
   x2+x1/ 2 and Y2+Y1/2
therefore, (4+2/2 , 7+3/ 2)
implies (6/2, 10/2)
(3, 5) is the coordinate of the midpoints.

hope in a way it is useful!

Anonymous: wait I will check!!
Anonymous: can u tell how?
Anonymous: because I am getting (1,2)
Anonymous: hey oky it is (3,5)
shanthi5: i clearly mentioned that the ratios
Anonymous: ratios are not required for this question since they are asking the midpoint
shanthi5: my teacher had taught in this way only
Anonymous: okay dear....I will not blame your teacher or you...I request you to kindly check the google ! please verify the midpoint formula in it ! hope this helps you! please verify

shanthi5: by this formula only we will get the answer
Anonymous: they are asking only the midpoint so the ratios are not required so straight midpoint formula can be used!
shanthi5: they asked the coordinates of the mid point
shanthi5: ok without using these formula by which formula u got the answer
Anonymous: yes
shanthi5: by ur method u didn't get the answer right
shanthi5: but by my method i got the answer na
Anonymous: the formula is( X1+X2/2,Y1+Y2/2)
Anonymous: but u can use your fomula if the ratios are given and if they say a point divides a line.....
Anonymous: the answer is (3,5)
