Here ratio is 1 : 1 as coordinates to be find is the mid point....

Let the Cordinates of the mid point be P ( x , y )

then by using section formula

x = ( 2 + 4 ) / 2 = 3

y= ( 1 + 7 ) / 2 = 4

Thus required coordinates = ( 3 , 4 )
