Let A ( -2,5)
Since , the required point is in y-axis it's x- co-ordinates will be 0.
Let required point = B ( 0,a)
we need to find coordinates of point,
such that Distance AB is minimum
Finding AB,
x= -2 , y = 5
x^2= 0 , y^2 = a( uprooted)
AB= √(x-x^1)^2+(y^2- y^1) ^2
√ {0-(-2)}^2+ (a-5)^2
√ (2)^2+ ( a- 5)^2
√(6)^2+ (a-5)^2
Now, AB is least when a-5 =0
a= 5
so, coordinates of required point= (0,5)
