The coordinates of point P are (3/5 , 32/5).

The point P divides A (-1, 8), B (3, 4) in 2:3 ratio .

Let the coordinates of P be (x,y)

The coordinate x will be equal to -

x = (m1x2 + m2x1)/(m1 + m2)

m1 , m2 is the ratio in which P divides A and B in the ratio 3:2.

x = (2×3 + 3×(-1)) / (2+3)

x = 3/5

The coordinate y will be equal to -

y = (m1y2 + m2y1)/(m1 + m2)

m1 , m2 is the ratio in which P divides A and B in the ratio 3:2.

y = (2×4 + 3×8) / (2+3)

y = 32/5

The point P which divides A (-1, 8), B (3, 4) in 2:3 ratio is (3/5 , 32/5).
