(0 , 4) ( - 2, 5)  Divides line segment joining A ( 2 , 3) & B ( -4 , 6)  into 3 Equal Parts

Step-by-step explanation:

A ( 2 , 3)

B ( -4 , 6)

let say M & N are the points which divides AB in to 3 Equal Parts

AM = MN = NB = AB/3

AM : MB  = 1 : 2

Coordinate of M = ( x , y)  divides AB into 1 : 2

Coordinate of M = ( 1(-4) + 2(2))/(1 + 2)  , (1 * 6 + 2 * 3)/(1 + 2)

= ( 0/3 , 12/3)

= (0 , 4)

MN = NB

=> N is mid point of M & B

M (0 , 4) B = ( - 4 , 6)

Coordinate of N = (0 - 4)/2 , (4 + 6)/2

= -2 , 5

(0 , 4) ( - 2, 5)  Divides line segment joining A ( 2 , 3) & B ( -4 , 6)  into 3 Equal Parts
