Find the coordinates of the point which divides the join of
1.(1,-3) and (-3,9) in ratio 1:3
2.(5,-4) and (-3,2) in ratio 1:2

Firstly we draw a line and name the end points of line A and B now we take (1,-3)as A and (-3,9)as B and we also name the centre point of line which divides the line in two parts =P as(x,y). Now in this question we find coordinates of P=x and y.

Second step = now we take 1:3 =1 as m1 and 3 as m2

Third step= So we all know about section formula =m1x2 +m2x1 /m1 +m2 so we put the values in this formula and our Ans is x =0 and y=0 so, the coordinates of P is (0,0)
