Answer:

C = ( 1,3) , which means the points divide the line segment is (1,3)

Step-by-step explanation:

     (x1,y1)      (x2,y2)

A= (-1,7) , B= (4,-3) LET C= (X,Y) ,ratio k = 2:3

by section formula,

C(X,Y) = [ k(x2)+x1/k+1, k(y2)+y1 /k+1 ]

x coordinate ⇒ x = k(x2)+x1 ÷ k+1

                            = 2/3 (4) + (-1) ÷  2/3 +1

                            =  8/3 -1 ÷ 2+3/3

                            =  8-3/3 ÷ 5/3

                            =5/3 ÷ 5/3

                          x  = 1

Y coordinate⇒ y=k(y2)+(y1) ÷ k+1

                           = 2/3 (-3) + 7 ÷ 2/3 +1

                           = -6/3 + 7 ÷ 2+3/3

                           = -6+21/3 ÷ 5/3

                           =  15/3 ÷ 5/3

                    y = 3
