Find the coordinates of the point which divides the line segment joining the point (-3,5) and (4,-9) in the ratio 3:2.

let p(x,y) divides the line in 3:2

then ,

x = (12-6)/(3+2) & y = (-27+10)/(3+2)

x=6/5 and y=(-17/5)

hence point p is (6/5 , -17/5)
