Find the coordinates of the points of trisection of the line joining the points (-3,0) and (6,0)​

Answer:

p=[1(6)+2(-3)/1+2,1(0)+2(0)/1+2]

p=[6-6/3,0+0/3]

p=[0/3,0/3]

p=[0,0]

By using section formula which is internally divided.As it is given as points of trisection there must be 2 points between (-3,0) and (6,0) and we know that ratios will be 1:2 for first point and 2:1 for second point.Substituting these in the formula separately then we will get the first coordinate as(0,0) and second coordinate as (3,0).
