Let the given points be P(-1,7) and Q(4,-3), Ratio = 2:3.

By section formula:

= > x = (m1x2 + m2x1)/m1 + m2

         = (2 * 4 + 3 * -1)/2 + 3

         = (8 - 3)/5

         = 5/5

         = 1.




= > y = (m1y2 + m2y1)/(m1 + m2)

         = (2 * -3 + 3 * 7)/(2 + 3)

         = (-6 + 21)/5

         = 15/5

         = 3.



Therefore the coordinates are (1,3).
