Correct Way of Disposal of E – Garbage

Disposing of e-waste cautiously and wisely is not only imperative, but beneficial also. E-waste contains hazardous chemicals such as  lead, mercury, beryllium, cadmium and brominated flame retardants are highly dangerous and detrimental to the environment and people’s health. Disposing these poisonous e-articles carelessly can lead to contamination of water bodies and soil.

Some countries are adopting unscrupulous and irresponsible practices in disposing of e-waste. They are shipping their e-waste to third world countries. People, especially children involved in handling, recycling, or disposing of this e-waste in these countries get exposed to the dangers of e-waste.

Healthy ways to dispose of e-waste:

E-waste can be disposed of without polluting and harming the environment. The first option to dispose of e-waste rightly is to give e-waste to BAN(Basel Action Network). BAN is a non-profit organization committed to recycling e-waste responsibly.

The second best option is instead of replacing your computer, laptop, etc., go for its upgrading. This also is quite a responsible Practice.

The third responsible practice is donate your computer or electronic gadget to an NGO. However, you must format it before doing so.

Fourth healthy practice to dispose of e-waste is to exchange your old gadget or computer; some companies provide this exchange facility. They take back your old gadget, when you buy a new version. They also offer some discount on such transactions.

In conclusion it can be said, e-waste is very dangerous. We should dispose it of responsibly and carefully. One of the above mentioned practices can be adopted while disposing it of.
