Given:

cost of per meter cloth is 2/3 rupees

Find:

cost of cloth for 2 1/3 metre cloth

so ,

 = 2 \frac{1}{3} \times \frac{2}{3} \: \: \: \: \: \: \: \: \: \: \: \: \: \\ \\ = \frac{2 \times 3 + 1}{3} \times \frac{2}{3} \\ \\ = \frac{7}{3} \times \frac{2}{3} \: \: \: \: \: \: \: \: \: \: \: \: \: \: \: \\ \\ = \frac{7 \times 2}{3 \times 3} \: \: \: \: \: \: \: \: \: \: \: \: \: \: \: \: \: \\ \\ = \frac{14}{9} \: \: \: \: \: \: \: \: \: \: \: \: \: \: \: \: \: \: \: \: \: \:

so the cost of 2 1/3 m cloth is 14/9 rupees.
