The  cost of digging a pit is Rs.742.

Step-by-step explanation:

Diameter of well = 3 m

Radius of well =\frac{3}{2} = 1.5 m

Depth of well = 21 m

Volume of well =\pi r^2 h = \frac{22}{7} \times 1.5^2 \times 21 = 148.5 m^3

Cost of digging 1 cubic m = Rs.5

Cost of digging 148.5 cubic m = 148.5 \times 5 =Rs. 742.5

Hence The  cost of digging a pit is Rs.742.5
