Given:

  • Length of rectangular field = 34m
  • Width of rectangular field = 18m
  • Rate of fencing = ₹2.25/m
  • Rate of cultivation = ₹4.5/m²

To find :

  • Cost of fencing the field
  • Cost of cultivating the field

Formula used :

  • Perimeter of rectangle = 2(l + b)
  • Area of rectangle = l × b

Solution :

Part 1 ) Cost of fencing

Firstly we will find perimeter of rectangular field, as fencing will be done along Perimeter

➝ Perimeter of rectangular field = 2( 34 + 18)m

➝ Perimeter of rectangular field = 2( 52 ) m

➝ Perimeter of rectangular field = 104m

  • Cost of fencing = Rate of fencing × perimeter of rectangular field

➝ Cost of fencing = ₹2.25/m × 104m

➝ Cost of fencing = ₹ 234

Part 2) Cost of cultivating

Cultivation will be fine along the area of rectangular field, so we need to find area of rectangular field firstly.

➝ Area of rectangular field = 34m × 18m

➝ Area of rectangular field = 612m²

  • Cost of cultivating = Rate of cultivating × Area of rectangular field

➝ Cost of cultivation = ₹ 4.5/m² × 612m²

➝ Cost of cultivation = 2754

ANSWER :

  • Cost of fencing = 234
  • Cost of cultivating = 2754

⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀\underline{\bf{Brush \: up \: Concepts}}

  • Perimeter of the given figure.
  • Area of the given figure.
  • Finding the cost of the given field.

\underline{\bf{Appropriate \: Formulas}}

\implies Perimeter of Rectangle → 2(l + b)

\impliesArea of Rectangle → l × b

\impliesCultivating Cost → Area × Per square metre cost

\implies Fencing Cost → Perimeter × Per metre cost.

Where,

" l " ⇒ Length

" B " ⇒ Breadth

Now,

Provided Information :

• The field is 34m long.

• The field is 18m wide.

• Per metre rate for fencing is ₹2.25/m

• Per meter cost for cultivating is ₹4.5/m²

Going to Find :

  • Cost of fencing the field and cultivating the rectangular field.

Appropriate Answer :

For finding the cost of fencing , we need to find out the perimeter of the given field and then multiplying it with the given per metre cost of fencing.

For perimeter of the field.

Taking " l " as 34 m and " b " as 18 m respectively from the given information.

✅ Perimeter of Field ⇒ 2( 34 + 18)m

⇒ 2 × 52 m

104m

Thus, the perimeter of the field is 104 m.

Now, as from our knowledge :

Cost of fencing → Given per metre fencing rate × perimeter of field

⇒ ₹2.25/m × 104m

Cost of fencing = ₹ 234

For finding the cost of cultivating , we need to find out the area of the given field and then multiplying it with the given per metre cost of cultivating.

For Area of the field.

Taking " l " as 34 m and " b " as 18 m respectively from the given information.

✅ Area of Field ⇒ 34 × 18

612 m²

Now, as from our knowledge :

Cost of Cultivating → Given per metre cultivating rate × Area of field

⇒ ₹ 4.5/m² × 612m²

Cost of cultivation is ₹2754
