Given :-

Length of the floor = 15 m

Breadth of the floor = 10 m

Area of the tile = 1.5 m²

Rate of flooring per tile = Rs. 18

To Find :-

The cost of flooring it with tiles of 1.5 m² area at the rate of 18 per tile.

Solution :-

We know that,

  • l = Length
  • b = Breadth
  • a = Area

By the formula,

\underline{\boxed{\sf Area \ of \ the \ rectangle=Length \times Breadth}}

Given that,

Length (l) = 15 m

Breadth (b) = 10 m

Substituting their values,

a = 15 × 10

a = 150 m²

Therefore, the area of the floor is 150 m².

Finding number of tiles,

Given that

Area of the tile = 1.5 m²

Area of the floor = 150 m²

According to the question,

Number of tiles = Area of floor/ Area of each tile

Substituting their values,

Tiles = 150/1.5

Tiles = 100

Therefore, 100 tiles are required.

Cost of flooring = Number of tiles × Cost of 1 tile

Substituting them,

Cost =  100 × 18

Cost = Rs. 1800

Therefore, the cost of flooring is Rs. 1800.
