total area of the floor of the room is
7.5 x 6 = 45m²

surface area of 1 tile is
0.3 x 0.3 = 0.09m²

so total number of tiles required for flooring are
45/0.09= 500

total cost of the flooring will be
6 x 500 = ₹3000

The cost will be, ₹300

Given : A room 7.5m by 6m with square tiles of side 30cm at the rate of ₹6 per tile.

To find : The total cost for flooring.

Solution :

We can simply solve this mathematical problem by using the following mathematical process. (our goal is to calculate the total cost)

The dimensions of the floor :

= 7.5m by 6m

= (7.5 × 100)cm by (6×100)cm

= 750cm by 600cm

(As, 1m = 100cm)

The area of the floor :

= (750 × 600) cm²

= 450000 cm²

Area of one square tile :

= (side)²

= (30)²

= 900 cm²

Numbers of tiles needed :

= (450000 ÷ 900)

= 500

Cost for 1 tile = ₹6

Cost for 500 tiles = 6 × 500 = ₹300

(This will be considered as the final result.)

Hence, the total cost ₹300
