Given:
Sides of triangle = 70 cm, 50 cm and 60 cm
To find : Cost of leveling the ground
Solution :
Let the Sides of triangle are a = 70 cm, b = 50 cm and c = 60 cm
Semi Perimeter of the triangle, s = (a + b + c)/2 =
s = (70 + 50 + 60)/2 cm
s = 180/2 cm
s = 90 cm
Using Heron's formula :
Area of the triangle ,A = √s(s - a)(s - b)(s - c)
(Here, a,b and c are the sides of the triangle)
A = √90(90 - 70)(90 - 50)(90 - 60) cm²
A = √90 × 20 × 40 × 30
A = √9 × 2 × 4 × 3 × 10000
A = √ 36 × 6 × 10000
A = 600√6 cm²
Area of the triangle is 600√6 cm².
A = 600√6/10000 m²
[1 cm² = 1/10000 m²]
Cost of leveling 1 m² of the ground = ₹ 7
Cost of leveling 600√6/10000 m² of the ground = ₹ 7 × 600√6/10000 = 42√6/100 = 42 × 2.45/100 = 102.9/100 = ₹ 1.02
Hence, the cost of levelling the ground at ₹ 7 per metre square is ₹ 1.02.
