Answer:

The cost of levelling the triangular ground at the rate of Rs. 8 per metre square is Rs. 48.

Explanation:-

Given :

Sides of triangle = 40 cm, 90 cm and 70 cm

Solution :

From the following sides, we know that the formed triangle is a scalene triangle.

Perimeter of the triangle => (40 + 90 + 70) cm = 200 cm

Therefore, Semi-perimeter=> Perimeter/2 = 200/2 = 100 cm

Now, As we know that:-

Area of the triangle= √s(s-a)(s-b)(s-c)

(Where a,b and c are the sides of the triangle)

= √100(100 - 90)(100 - 70)(100 - 40) cm²

= √100 × 10 × 30 × 60 cm²

= √10 × 10 × 2 × 5 × 3 × 5 × 2 × 3 × 2 × 5 × 2 cm²

= 10 × 2 × 5 × 3 × 2 cm²

= 600 cm²

Hence, the area of the triangle is 600 cm².

Converting the area into metres => 600/100 = 6 cm²

Cost of levelling the ground at Rs. 8 per metre square => Rs.(6 × 8) = Rs.48
