find the cost of paper for walls of the room if each paper is 40 cm wide and 60 am long. The room is 6m long , 4m wide and 3 m high and cost of paper is Rs. 1.40 per pice ; allow 11 m2 for doors window etc. and assume that a whole no. of pices has to be brought​

PAPER :-

--> Length of paper = 60cm = 0.6m

--> Breadth of paper = 40cm = 0.4m

WALL :-

--> Length = 6m

--> Breadth = 4m

--> Height = 3m

As the room is in the rectangular shape , so to find the area of the walls we will use the formula of curved surface area of rectangle .

Area of four walls = 2 ( lb + bh + hl )

= 2 ( 6×4 + 4×3 + 3×6 )

= 2 ( 54 )

= 108m^2

Area of paper = l × b

= 0.6 × 0.4

= 0.24m^2

It is given that we have to exclude 11 m2 for doors , window etc

So ,

Area of wall excluding door = 108 - 11

= 97m^2

Now we have to find the number of pieces of paper required to cover the walls..

No. of pieces of paper required = 97 / 0.24

= 404.17

=i.e 405

Now we will find the cost if 405 papers if 1 paper cost Rs 1.40

Cost of paper = 405 × 1.40

= Rs 567

The cost of paper for walls of the room is Rs 567
