Find the cost of papering a room 8 m long, 6 m wide and 4 m high with paper 80 cm wide at the rate of
120 per piece of 5 m.​

• Length of the room = 8 m
• Breadth of the room = 6 m
• Height of the room = 4 m
• Width of the paper = 80 cm
• Rate of papering = Rs. 120 per 5 m

To Find :-

• The cost of papering the room.

Solution :-

Using the formula,

• Area of the wall = 2(L + B)H

Where,

• L = Length
• B = Breadth
• H = Height

Substituting their values,

= 2(8 + 6) 4

= 2 × 14 × 4

= 112 sq. m

Number of rolls required = Area of the wall/4

= 112/4

= 28 rolls

Finding the cost,

Cost of papering = Number of rolls × Rate

= 28 × 120

= Rs. 3360

• Therefore, the cost of papering is Rs. 3360.
