Given:

Length of farm = 400m

Breadth of farm = 300m

Cost of ploughing per 100 sq metres = ₹6

To Find: Cost of ploughing the entire field

Solution:

Area of Rectangle = Length x Breadth

Area = 400m x 300m

Area = 120000 m²

Cost of ploughing 100 m² = ₹6                  ....(Given)

By unitary method

Cost of ploughing 1 m² =  ₹6 / 100

Cost of ploughing 120000 m² = Cost of ploughing  1 m² x 120000

                                                  = ₹ \frac{6 (120000)}{100}

                                                  = ₹ 6 x 1200

                                                  = ₹ 7200

Therefore, the cost of ploughing the entire field will be ₹ 7200.

7200

Step-by-step explanation:

length - 400m

breadth - 300m

300 × 400 = 120000m

120000 ÷ 100 = 1200

1200 × 6 = 7200
