Question:-

Find the cost of the marble required for covering floor of a square shaped room of side 3.2 m if marble costs Rs 150 per m² .

Given:-

  • Side of square shaped room is 3.2 m
  • Cost of marble Rs 150 per m²

Solution:-

Let, one side of square shaped floor is 3.2 m {By given}

Now, we find area of floor {According to given & assumption}

—› Area of floor = (side)²

—› Area of floor = (3.2)²

—› Area of floor = 10.24

Now, according to given, cost of marble is Rs 150 per m².

Let, 'x' be the cost the marble required for covering floor.

Hence,

—› x = Rs {Area of floor×Cost of marble}

—› x = Rs {10.24 × 150}

—› x = Rs 1536

Hence, the cost the cost the marble required for covering floor is Rs 1536.
