2. V = 4 V.

3. Total resistance in line 1 = R1 = 6 + 3 = 9 ohm.

4. Total resistance in line 2 = R2 = 12 + 3 = 15 ohm.

5. (i) Current through 6 Ω resistor = Current through line 1 = V/R1 = 4/9 = 0.44 Ω

6. (ii) p.d. across line 2 is 4 V.

7. Current through line 2 = V/R2 = (4/15) Ω
