Answer:

Given - V=20.0V,R

1

=5.0Ω,R

2

=2.0Ω,R

3

=1.0Ω,R

4

=2.0Ω

as all the resistors are in series combination therefore equivalent resistance will be ,

R=2.0+1.0+2.0+5.0=10.0Ω

total current in circuit (through each resistor) ,

I=V/R=20.0/10.0=2A

now , voltage drop across resistor 1 ,

V

1

=IR

1

=2×5.0=10.0V

voltage drop across resistor 2 ,

V

2

=IR

2

=2×2.0=4.0V

voltage drop across resistor 3 ,

V

3

=IR

3

=2×1.0==2×1.0=2.0V

voltage drop across resistor 4 ,

V

4

=IR

4

=2×2.0=4.0V
