Explanation:

Given Find the current in 1 ohm resistor

  • Using Kirchoff’s law we get
  • So – 6 + 3I1 + 1 (I1 – I2) = 0
  • So 3I1 + I1 – I2 = 6
  • Or 4 I1 – I2 = 6---------1
  • So – 9 + 2 I 2 + 1(I 2 – I 1) + 3 I 2 = 0
  • So – 9 + 2 I2 + I 2 – I 1 + 3 I 2 = 0
  • Or – I1 + 6 I 2 = 9 ---------------2
  • Solving 1 and 2 we get
  • 4 I 1 – I 2 = 6
  • -I 1 + 6 I2 = 9 multiply by – 4
  • So 4 I 1 – I 2 = 6
  •     4 I 1 – 24 I2 = - 36
  •              23 I 2 = 42
  • So I 2 = 42 / 23 Amperes
  • Also I 1 = 45 / 23 A
  • Now net current across 1 ohm resistance will be I 1 – I 2
  •                                                                        = 45 / 23 – 42 / 23
  •                                                                        = 3 / 23 A from Q to P
  •                                                                       = 0.13 A from Q to P
