DIAGONAL OF A RECTANGLE = (L^2 + B^2)^1/2

SO ANS = (12^2 + 35^2)^1/2

              = 1369^1/2

               = 37 cm

Let the diagonal be x.

And the rectangle be ABCD.

GIVEN:

Length=35 cm

Breadth=12 cm

So ADC is a right angled triangle.

According to Pythagoras theorm,

(AD)^2+(CD)^2=(AC)^2

(12)^2+(35)^2=x^2

144+1225=x^2

1369=x^2

x=√1369

x=37 cm
