Find the diagonal of a square whose side is 16 cm​

Given, the side of a square is 16cm.

We know that, diagonal of square = √2 × side.

= √2 × 16

=16 √2

∴ The diagonal of a square is 16√2 cm.

Since , we know that all the angles of the square is of 90°.

Therefore, by applying Pythagoras theorem to triangle ABC.

AC² = AB² + BC². [ Where AC is a diagonal of square ABCD ]

AC² = 16² + 16²

AC² = 256 + 256

AC² = 512

AC = √512

AC = 16√2cm
