Answer:

THE DIMENSIONS OF THE RECTANGLE ARE 40 CM AND 9 CM.

LENGTH=40CM

BREADTH=9CM

CONSIDER A RECTANGLE ABCD AND LET THE SIDES AB=40 CM AND BC=9CM AND DRAW A DIAGONAL ALONG THE ABC AND THE DIAGONAL WOULD BE AC.

IN RECTANGLE WE KNOW ALL THE ANGLES ARE EQUAL TO 90 DEGREE.

APPLY PYTHAGORAS THEOREM,

AC^{2} = AB^{2} + BC^{2} \\AC^{2} = 40^{2} + 9^{2} \\AC^{2} = 1600+81\\AC^{2} =1681\\AC^{2} =41^{2}\\AC =41

SO THE DIAGONAL OF THE RECTANGLE WOULD BE 41 CM.

HOPE YOU WOULD HAVE GOT THE ANSWER.
