Given:

Area of circle = 6.16m²

Find:

The diameter and circumference of the circle.

Solution:

Let the radius of the circle be 'r' m.

We know that;

Area of circle = πr²

=> πr² = 6.16

=> 22/7 × r²

=> r² = 6.16 × 7/22

=> r² = 5.6/2 × 7

=> r² = 2.8 × 7

=> r² = 1.96

=> r² = √1.96

=> r = 1.4m

Now, Diameter = 2(Radius)

=> 2 × 1.4

=> 2.8m

Now, circumference = 2πr

=> 2 × 22/7 × 1.4

=> 2 × 22 × 0.7

=> 8.8m

Hence, the diameter is 2.8m and circumference of the circle is 8.8m.

Important Information:

Diameter of a Circle D = 2 × r

Circumference of a Circle C = 2 × π × r

Area of a Circle A = π × r2

Where,

  • r denotes the radius of the circle.
  • d indicates the diameter of the circle.
  • c indicates circumference of the circle.

I hope it will help you.

Regards.
