Solution :

Let d is the diameter of the circle .

Circumference of the circle = 12.56cm

=> πd = 12.56 cm

=> ( 22/7 )d = 12.56

=> d = ( 12.56 × 7 )/22

=> d = 43.96/11 cm

or

=> d = 3.996 cm

circumference of a circle = 2πr

circumference of a circle = 2πr = 12.56

πr = 12.56 ÷ 2

πr = 6.28

r = 6.28 × π

r = [tex]\frac{6.28 × 7}{22}

r = [tex]\frac{43.96}{22}

r = 1.99

diameter = 2r

= 2 × 1.99

= 3.99

proof = 2π × 1.99

= 12.56
