Answer :

  • Diameter of circle is 20cm

Given :

  • Area of two circle of diameter is 16cm and 12cm

To find :

  • Diameter of circle

Solution :

Given that, the diameter of circle whose area is equal to the sum of areas of two circle of diameter 16cm and 12cm then ,

  • Let the radius of circle be x

  • Radius of first circle is 16/2 = 8cm
  • Radius of second circle is 12/2 = 6cm

  • Area of 1st circle = π × r² = π × (8)² = 64πcm²
  • Area of 2nd circle = π × r² = π × (6)² = 36πcm²

As we know that

  • Area of circle = πr²

■ πr² = 64π × 36π

■ πr² = 100π

■ r² = 100

■ r = √100

■ r = 10 cm

  • Diameter of circle = 2 × 10 = 20cm

Hence , Diameter of circle is 20cm

Step-by-step explanation:

Answer :

Diameter of circle is 20cm

Given :

Area of two circle of diameter is 16cm and 12cm

To find :

Diameter of circle

Solution :

Given that, the diameter of circle whose area is equal to the sum of areas of two circle of diameter 16cm and 12cm then ,

Let the radius of circle be x

Radius of first circle is 16/2 = 8cm

Radius of second circle is 12/2 = 6cm

Area of 1st circle = π × r² = π × (8)² = 64πcm²

Area of 2nd circle = π × r² = π × (6)² = 36πcm²

As we know that

Area of circle = πr²

■ πr² = 64π × 36π

■ πr² = 100π

■ r² = 100

■ r = √100

■ r = 10 cm

Diameter of circle = 2 × 10 = 20cm

Hence , Diameter of circle is 20cm
