Q. Find the dimension of a/b in the equation P = a - t^2 where, P is pressure, x is distance and t is time.

ans :- \frac{a}{b}  = ( {m}^{2}  {l}^{ - 2}  {t}^{ - 6} )

Explanation:-

Given :-

p = pressure = (m {l}^{ - 1}  {t}^{ - 2} )

x = distance = (l)

t = time = (t)

By using the principal of homeginity

p = a

a = (m {l}^{ - }  {t}^{ - 2} )

p =   \frac{ {t}^{2} }{bx}

(m {l}^{ - 1}  {t}^{ - 2} ) =  \frac{ {t}^{2} }{b(l)}

b =   \frac{ {t}^{2} }{(m {t}^{ - 2}) }

b = ( {m}^{ - 1}  {t}^{4} )

 \frac{a}{b}  =  \frac{(m {l}^{ - 1}  {t}^{ - 2}) }{( {m}^{ - 1}  {t}^{4}) }

 \frac{a}{b}  = ( {m}^{2}  {l}^{ - 2}  {t}^{ - 6} )
